Desert Ladies Bible Study
of Greater Palm Springs/Coachella Valley
...Sharing rich, but easy-to-understand concepts in a down-to-earth, life related and interesting format in a non-sectarian and comfortable setting.
When?
We meet Wednesdays at 9:30 to 11:45 AM, September through May (holiday schedule varies). We also meet two or three times during the Summer months.
Where?
Whitehawk Country Club in Palm Desert, at the Home of Sherrill Allen.
Who?
Women of all types and ages! Let’s get acquainted! All are welcome, including local women and those visiting our beautiful desert.
What?
Delightful friendly ladies who enjoy good fellowship while discovering rich “wisdom for living” from the Book of Books, the life-giving time-tested Holy Scripture, which is the guidebook for LIFE from our Creator who loves us. We encourage interaction as we share enlightening Bible studies each week. We also enjoy a time of singing inspirational hymns and songs, and have a time of prayer for things that matter to you! A NOTEBOOK full of study guides and helps is provided. Visitors receive the current study outline. There is no charge, but those who wish may help with expenses through tax-deductible free-will offerings.
Current Study Subject:
We are studying the New Testament Book of HEBREWS, revealing Jesus, Our Great High Priest, from the perspective of the “Present Heavenly Ministry of Jesus on Our Behalf.” Arlene’s down-to-earth, easy-to-understand, life-related approach will bring the heavenly ministry of Jesus alive. Whether you are a seeker or investigator, a doubter or believer just wanting to broaden your knowledge, or are a Christian who has a lifetime of Bible study under your belt, you are bound to gain new insights during our invigorating Bible study. Our study time includes reading the Scriptures verse by verse, interactive discussion, answers to questions, life application, and inspiration. Meetings also include special prayer times, occasional potluck luncheons and special holiday celebrations You will profit from participating, whether you are able to attend weekly or whenever you can make it. We WELCOME VISITORS and SNOWBIRDS who vacation or spend winters in our beautiful desert!
Who Teaches the Bible Study?
ARLENE WOODROW, who is a Christian Minister and the mother of three grown children and grandmother of seven. She and her husband, Ralph Woodrow, speak for many Churches and gatherings and are authors of 16 books, plus Bible studies and articles. Arlene has faced many challenges, but has gained great victory and insights through which she has become an effective and transparent communicator who brings the Bible to life. She is motivated by her personal relationship with God and her non-judgmental love for others. Arlene’s ministry at the Bible Study includes PRAYER TIME for things that concern you.
DEANNE NERGUIZIAN, a warm and vivacious lady, works side-by-side with Arlene to make every meeting extra special. She adds an inspirational touch to our gatherings and involves ladies in a variety of interactive, meaningful and fun activities. Deanne is the wife of the late Dr. Berj Nerguizian and the mother of five grown children. She is very involved grandmother of 16 grandchildren. She is the author of Our Thanksgiving Days, a beautiful interactive coffee table book for the Thanksgiving Season.
